My Mid-2019 Reflection and Testimony

Reflection

After nine years with AOG (Assemblies of God) and nine years of service with World Vision International Cambodia, over the last few years I was able to spend a few months with Khmer churches in America and was involved with church work, worship ministry and evangelism. It was a time to acquaint myself with different churches and people from different international cultures. It was an added benefit to visit Khmer people, who were living overseas, and hearing their testimonies on how God loves and cares for them and at the same time, it was also a time to hear their sad stories and experiences back to the year 1975-1979 during the great hardships and war in Cambodia. Many told how they were still struggling in emotion and depression from the war. Did you know that there are over 330,259 people from Cambodian-Cham, Vietnam, and Chinese who were born and live in America in different states.  Some of them dare not come back to visit Cambodia due to deep depression and sadness in their mind and heart during the war. They need prayer and healing.

Time of Interaction

During my time in America, there were opportunities for me to speak with different groups and Khmer people and in a few churches I visited, I did evangelism, served in worship ministry with few churches, prayers support and attending Wednesday Prayer and Bible study Group meetings which opened doors so I could meet one-to-one and to provide prayer support.  During the five months in America, it was encouraging to hear how God called individuals and groups to worship Him and to hear their amazing testimonies and faith.  There were so many great stories to hear and much to praise God about.

God of the Season

After I got back from my trip to the USA, it was a step of living by faith of my involvement with different ministries focuses.

Haggai:

Back to the year 2010, I was called to joined Haggai international leadership seminar in Maui, Hawaii USA.

Haggai International Cambodia:

I joined in the role as Vice-President, board member and Haggai faculty.  Haggai’s goal is to equip and inspire strategically positioned leaders to be more effective so they can demonstrate and present the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to reach out to people at the marketplace to bring an end to gospel poverty.

July 23-27, 2019 was the first national leadership seminar for Haggai in Cambodia. At this seminar 22 leaders, from churches and various organizations, were trained and graduated. I delivered my teaching on “Self Discipline for Evangelism” course with other members of the Haggai national faculty. PRAISE HIM!

Kairos: Its aim is to mobilize Christians and attempts to lay a foundation in the life of Christian and the local churches for active and strategic involvement in world evangelization.  I will be joining, along with other group facilitators, so we can facilitate the Kairos course that is scheduled to be held on the 2nd to the 6th of September, 2019.

On Reflection

On reflection of my journey with the Lord, a verse entered my mind immediately, while I was praying: “Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” (Colossians 3:2).

God reminded me through this text of a richer position and of my spiritual position. “I am raised with Christ, my life is hidden with Christ in God.”  My life is secured. It will not spin nor change. Christ is seated at the right hand of God and in that position our Lord reigns with authority. I found myself that I am living in God’s hands right now and in the future as well.

Prayer Requests

Please pray for me that God will provide all my needs while I carry out these ministries and my involvement to reach out to my fellow Cambodians, to discern God’s will and call, time and ways they can be involved, as they answer His call to witness to our own Khmer community and to different groups in our community as well.
